Privacy Policy for Poolhouse Games
Last Updated: April 25, 2025
1. Introduction
Welcome to Poolhouse Games’ Privacy Policy. Poolhouse Games (“Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you use our mobile games, applications, and websites. It applies to all Poolhouse Games games, products and services (collectively, the “Services”). By downloading or using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of your information as outlined in this Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not install or use our apps or services.
We encourage you to read this Policy carefully. If you have any questions or concerns about our data practices, you can contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section below.
2. Information We Collect
We collect various types of information from and about users of our Services. This includes:
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
- Account and Profile Information: If you create an account or profile in our game, we may collect information such as your name, username, password, email address, and other contact details. If our games allow user profiles or in-game avatars, any information you choose to provide (such as a profile photo or display name) will be collected.
- Social Media Login Data: If you choose to log in or sign up via third-party platforms like Facebook (Meta) or Apple Sign-in, we will receive certain information from those accounts. For example, when connecting via Facebook or Apple, we may obtain your name, email address, and public profile information from your account . We will only collect the information that the third-party platform authorizes us to receive based on your settings and their privacy policies.
- User-Generated Content: We collect any content you voluntarily create or submit within the Services, such as in-game chat messages, forum or community postings, photos or other media (if the game has those features), feedback, and correspondence with us (for example, customer support inquiries). Please remember that content you share with others in-game (like chat or forum posts) may be visible to other players.
- Communication Preferences: If you sign up to receive newsletters or marketing emails (where available), we collect your email address and any preferences you indicate. You can opt out of these communications at any time (see Your Rights and Choices below).
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
When you use our games or visit our website, we and our third-party partners automatically collect certain technical and usage data. This includes:
- Device Information: Details about the mobile device or computer you use to access the Services, such as device model, operating system type and version, processor and memory statistics, device identifiers, device manufacturer, browser type, screen resolution, language settings and related information.
- Usage Data: Information about how you interact with our Services. For example, we collect gameplay statistics and events (levels attempted and completed, session length, in-game item purchases or rewards, scores, gameplay preferences, etc.), feature usage, clicks and navigation within the app, and other gameplay progress data. If you encounter technical issues, we might collect crash logs, error reports, and performance data to diagnose and fix problems.
- Log and Connection Data: When you connect to our online services, our servers automatically record information such as your IP address, country/region based on IP, timestamps of access, and pages or screens visited. For website visitors, we may log similar information including browser type and referring URLs.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies: On our website, we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to remember your preferences and track your activities. In our mobile apps, we may use local storage or software development kits (SDKs) that function similarly to cookies (for example, to store your settings or identify your device for push notifications). These help us personalize your experience and analyze how the Services are used. You have choices to manage cookies and ad identifiers (see Your Rights and Choices).
- Location Data: We do not ask for precise GPS location, but we may infer your general location (country, city) from your IP address or device settings. This helps us provide region-appropriate content (for instance, language, or events) and comply with regional requirements. If we ever need to access precise location for a specific feature, we will ask for your permission, and you can always decline or revoke that permission.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may obtain information about you from third-party sources, which we treat according to this Policy plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data. These sources include:
- Third-Party Logins: As noted above, if you use Facebook, Apple, Google, or another platform to log into our Services, those platforms may send us certain profile information (such as your name, email, friend list, or profile picture) with your consent. For example, Facebook Login may allow us to see your friends who also play the game, so you can connect with them in-game, and Apple Sign-in may share your name and email (or a forwarded email alias if you choose “Hide My Email”). We do not receive your social media passwords. You can revoke our access to your data on these platforms at any time via your account settings on the respective platform.
- Advertising and Analytics Partners: We work with marketing and analytics partners that assist us in understanding user engagement and serving ads. These partners might provide us with aggregated audience insights or advertising identifiers. For instance, we might receive information from an analytics service about how long players on average spend in certain levels, or from an attribution service telling us which marketing campaign or ad network led you to install our game. We may also receive demographic or interest information about our user base from ad networks to help us tailor our game content or advertising (e.g., an ad partner might tell us that “X% of players in Country Y who installed via their network are interested in puzzle games”).
- Platform Providers and App Stores: When you make purchases through Apple’s App Store or Google Play (such as buying in-game currency), we receive information from Apple or Google confirming that the purchase was completed. This includes information like the item purchased and the amount, but we do not receive your sensitive payment information (such as credit card numbers) from the app stores . The processing of payments is handled by the platform providers, and they may share limited data with us for record-keeping (for example, an order ID and purchase timestamp).
- Others: If our game includes features from third-party services (for example, linking to a community forum, or participating in a promotional event with a partner), those third parties might send us relevant data subject to their privacy policies. We will inform you within the Service when such third-party features are present. For example, if we run a contest on a social media platform, we might receive information about the contest participants from that platform.
2.4 Sensitive Information: We do not actively collect any sensitive personal information such as health data, biometric identifiers, or information about your race, religion, or political opinions through our games. We ask that you not send or disclose any sensitive personal data in or through the Services. If you do so (for example, by choosing a username that reveals your religion), that is at your discretion and considered manifestly public.
3. How We Use Your Information
Poolhouse Games uses the collected information for various purposes in support of our business and your gameplay experience. The primary purposes include:
- To Operate and Provide the Services: We process your data to allow you to play and enjoy the game. This includes using data to set up and maintain your game accounts, remember your game progress and in-game items, enable core gameplay mechanics, and provide customer support or technical assistance. For example, your device ID helps us recognize you when you return to the app, and your gameplay data allows us to save your level progress.
- Synchronization Across Devices: If our game offers cloud save or cross-device play, we use your information (e.g. account ID or social login) to sync your progress and enable you to access your game profile from multiple devices. This is why connecting to Facebook or Apple can allow multi-device login – we use the unique account info to tie your progress together.
- To Improve and Personalize the User Experience: We analyze usage and feedback to understand how our players use the Services. Information like crash logs, device models, or level-failure rates helps us troubleshoot problems and optimize game performance for different devices. We may use your gameplay behavior and preferences to adjust game difficulty, provide you with in-game tips, or personalize in-game offers and content. For instance, if we see you enjoy a particular type of in-game event, we might show you more of that content.
- Advertising and Marketing Purposes: We and our partners use personal data to show advertisements that are more relevant to you, and to promote our own games. For example, we (or third-party ad networks on our behalf) might serve you targeted ads within our game for other products, or show you Poolhouse Games ads on other apps/websites you visit. We may use your age (if provided) to ensure that ads are appropriate for your age group and that we comply with legal age restrictions. Advertising identifiers and other device data are used to limit ad frequency (so you don’t see the same ad too many times) and to measure the effectiveness of ad campaigns. We also use data to decide which ads to show — for example, if you have already purchased an item, we might not show you ads for that item. Targeted Advertising: Our advertising partners may combine the information collected from our app (such as your device ID and in-game events) with information from their own platforms to serve personalized ads suited to your interests . Please see Third-Party Services below for more on how these partners work and your choices (including how to opt-out of targeted ads).
- In-App Purchases and Payments: If you make purchases, we use the information to fulfill your orders and provide you with the purchased content (e.g., add virtual currency to your account). We also maintain a record of your purchase history to provide customer service (for example, to restore items if you lose access) and to prevent fraud. Financial transactions are processed by the platform (Apple or Google), but we use purchase confirmations to update your game entitlements.
- Communication with You: We may use your contact information (like email) to send you service-related communications and important updates. For example, we might email you to confirm your account or to notify you of major changes to this Privacy Policy or our Terms of Service. If you have opted in to receive marketing emails or newsletters, we will send you promotional communications about new features, games, or special events we think you’ll be interested in. You can opt out of marketing messages at any time. If you contact us for support, we will use your provided information to respond and resolve your inquiries or complaints.
- Ensuring Fair Play and Security: We are dedicated to keeping our games fun and safe. We use personal data to monitor for and prevent fraud, cheating, hacking, or other activities that could harm the integrity of the game or endanger users. For example, we may use device identifiers or IP addresses to identify multiple accounts suspected of cheating, or use chat content to moderate offensive behavior. If we detect violations of our Terms of Service, we may take action on accounts (which could include using your data to investigate and enforce those terms).
- Legal Compliance: We may process your data as required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, or enforceable governmental requests. For instance, keeping records of transactions for tax/audit purposes, or age information to comply with child data protection laws. We also use data where necessary to exercise or defend legal claims, protect the rights, property, or safety of Poolhouse Games, our users, or the public (such as disclosing information to law enforcement when required by law or to report unlawful activity).
Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR): If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA) or other regions with similar laws, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: (a) Contract – to provide the Services you requested under our Terms of Service; (b) Legitimate Interests – for purposes like improving our games, preventing fraud, and showing ads (we consider and balance your privacy rights when relying on this basis); (c) Consent – where required, we will obtain your consent for specific processing such as certain marketing communications or, in some jurisdictions, for personalized ads; and (d) Legal Obligation – to comply with laws (e.g., maintaining transaction records or responding to lawful requests). You have the right to withdraw consent at any time and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (see Your Rights below).
4. Third-Party Services and SDKs
Our games integrate third-party services to enrich your experience and support our operations. These third-party partners may collect information directly through our app (via their SDKs or cookies) and are independent data controllers of that data. We want you to know exactly who we work with and why:
- Social Login and Gameplay Services: If you choose to connect your game account with a social network or platform, that service (e.g. Facebook, Apple, or Google) will handle your authentication and may receive certain data about your usage of our app. For example, if you use Facebook Login, Facebook may know that your account is being used to log into our game and may receive info about your activities in our game that you share back (such as high scores to post on your feed, if you choose to share them).
- Advertising Networks: We display ads in our free-to-play games to support our development and offer free content. We partner with advertising networks and mediation platforms that help us show ads to you. These partners may collect device identifiers, IP address, and information about your interactions with the app (e.g., that you reached level X, or clicked an ad) to personalize ads and measure their effectiveness. Our partners may use tracking technologies such as SDKs or server-to-server connections to process data for ad targeting and analytics. Each of these companies has its own privacy policy detailing their data practices.
- Analytics and Usage Tracking: We may use third-party analytics tools to collect information about how players use our games. These tools may record events like game launch, tutorial completion, purchases, and other in-app behaviors, as well as device data. The information helps us aggregate statistics (for instance, number of daily active users, or which levels are most difficult) so we can make data-driven improvements. Analytics providers may also use cookies or device IDs to track how you came to install the app (e.g., which advertisement or campaign led you to us). The data collected is generally in aggregate form, but may include unique identifiers. These third-party analytics data are controlled by the respective providers. We use these analytics solely to improve our own services.
- Push Notifications: Our games may send you mobile push notifications for things like reminding you about game events or promotions. We might use Apple Push Notification Service (APNS) for iOS and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) for Android to deliver these. If you agree to receive push notifications, your device token will be shared with the notification service solely to send the messages. You can opt out of push notifications at any time by adjusting your device settings (or in-game settings if available).
- Customer Support and Communication Tools: If our support or community features utilize a third-party platform, any information you provide through those platforms may be stored both in our systems and on those third-party servers. We ensure any support partner we use is contractually obligated to protect your data. Be aware that if you use third-party community forums or social media pages, those are governed by the third party’s own privacy policies.
- Payment Processors: All real-money purchases in our mobile apps are handled by Apple App Store, Google Play Store. These platforms have their own privacy policies and might collect billing information from you to process payments. Poolhouse Games itself does not receive your credit card or payment account data; we receive confirmation of payment and basic information needed to deliver your purchase. For any purchases made on our website (if applicable), we will use reputable payment processors.
- Other Third-Party SDKs: Our apps may include SDKs from other services for additional functionality – for example, bug report tools, A/B testing frameworks, or social sharing features (to share content from the game to a social network). These SDKs might collect information (like device info or how you interact with their feature) to function. We only integrate SDKs from companies we trust and that are necessary for our app’s features.
Important: Third-party partners may independently collect and process your data under their own policies. We do not control their data handling, but we do contractually require certain privacy protections and we try to only work with partners who respect user privacy. However, please review their privacy notices. If you have specific questions about any third-party integration, you can contact us for more information.
5. Sharing and Disclosure of Information
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary compensation. However, we do share certain categories of information with third parties in the following circumstances:
- With Service Providers: We share information with third-party companies that perform services on our behalf. These “processors” help us operate and support the Services – examples include cloud hosting providers, data analytics companies, customer support ticketing providers, marketing email service providers, and QA or testing services. They are contractually bound to process personal data only as needed to provide their services to us and are not permitted to use it for other purposes.
- With Advertising and Analytics Partners: As described in the section above, we allow certain third-party ad networks and analytics providers to collect information through our Services. In some cases, we may also share (or they directly collect) information such as your device ID, hashed information (like an obscured version of your email or ID for attribution purposes), and contextual data about in-game events. These partners use the data to serve personalized ads, attribute ad performance, and provide analytics on user acquisition. For example, we might upload a list of user device IDs to an ad network to create a “lookalike audience” for advertising our game to similar users – this is a common practice but is done under strict privacy safeguards (IDs are pseudonymous and used only for our marketing).
- Within our Corporate Family: If Poolhouse Games has affiliates, subsidiaries, or parent companies (for instance, if we are part of a group or if we establish regional subsidiaries), we may share data with them as necessary to operate the Services (for example, a subsidiary assisting with development or publishing). Any such entity will honor the commitments of this Privacy Policy.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or some of our assets, personal information may be transferred to a successor or affiliate as part of that transaction. We will ensure the recipient agrees to protect your personal information in line with this Policy. If a change of ownership affects how your personal data is used, we will notify you and inform you of any choices you may have.
- For Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose your information when we believe in good faith that such disclosure is necessary to comply with a legal obligation or request (e.g., a court order, subpoena, or law enforcement demand). Additionally, we may share information to protect the rights, property, and safety of Poolhouse Games, our users, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud prevention, security, or to address technical issues. For example, if you engage in suspected illegal activities (like fraud or threats), we might share data with law enforcement agencies.
Aggregated or De-Identified Data: We may also share information that has been aggregated (grouped with other users’ data) or de-identified (stripped of personal identifiers) such that it can no longer reasonably be used to identify you. This type of data is not considered personal information. For example, we might publish reports or infographics about how many players reached a certain level or the percentage of players from different countries, without any personal details.
6. International Data Transfers
Poolhouse Games is based in the United States, and our Services are accessible globally. When you use our games, your personal information may be transferred to and processed on servers located in countries other than your own, including the United States, Canada, and possibly other jurisdictions where our service providers or partners operate. Different countries may have data protection laws that are different (and potentially less protective) than the laws of your country.
By using our Services, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Policy. We will always handle your personal information securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy, wherever it is processed.
If you have questions about our international data transfer practices, or need more information about the safeguards in place, please contact us (see Contact Us section).
7. Data Security
We take data security seriously and have implemented reasonable and appropriate security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These measures include technical, administrative, and physical safeguards such as encryption of data in transit (e.g., SSL/TLS), firewalls and intrusion detection systems, secure server environments with limited access, and regular security assessments of our systems.
Our employees and contractors are bound by confidentiality obligations. We also choose reputable third-party service providers that are required to maintain strong security practices.
Despite our efforts, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee absolute security. It is important for you to also play a role in keeping your information safe. We encourage you to use unique and strong passwords for any accounts and to log out of shared devices after playing. If you suspect any unauthorized access to your account or any security breaches, please notify us immediately.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will act promptly to mitigate the impact and will notify you and relevant authorities as required by law.
8. Data Retention
We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, as outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. This means:
- We keep your profile and game data while your account is active or as needed to provide you the Services. For example, your game progress and account information will be retained so long as you have not deleted your account or been inactive for an extended period.
- If you request deletion of your data or account, we will take steps to delete or anonymize your information from our active databases. Some information may be retained in our backups or archives for a short period (due to technical reasons) but will be purged according to our retention schedule.
- We may retain certain information for legal compliance. For instance, we might keep transaction records, payment history, and correspondence for a certain number of years to comply with tax laws, accounting requirements, or dispute resolution. If you have made purchases, we retain records of those purchases as required.
- We also retain information as necessary to resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our legal rights. For example, if we banned a user for fraud or cheating, we may retain certain data to ensure they do not circumvent the rules or to defend against potential legal claims.
- Usage data that is aggregated or de-identified (so it’s no longer personal) may be retained indefinitely for analytics without further notice, since it no longer relates to an identifiable individual.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete it or anonymize it. If deletion is not immediately possible (for example, because the data is stored in an off-site backup), we will securely store the data until deletion is feasible.
9. Children’s Privacy
Protecting children’s privacy is extremely important to us. Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you are under 13, please do not download or use our games, and do not provide us with any personal information.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take immediate steps to delete that information from our records. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information without consent, they should contact us and we will promptly remove the data and terminate the child’s account if applicable.
For users between the ages of 13 and 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction), we advise that you seek permission from a parent or guardian before using our Services or providing any personal information. Some countries have higher age thresholds (e.g., 16 in parts of the EU) for certain data collection. We will comply with applicable laws regarding minimum age requirements. If we choose to make any of our Services directed to children in the future, we will provide a separate, COPPA-compliant privacy policy and obtain verifiable parental consent as required by law.
10. Your Rights and Choices
You have rights and choices regarding your personal information. Poolhouse Games is committed to enabling you to exercise those rights:
10.1 Access, Correction, and Deletion: You may access and update certain profile information by logging into your account (if the game offers an account management interface). For example, you can change your in-game nickname or email (if applicable) in the settings. If you would like to access or obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or if you need to correct any inaccuracies, please contact us (see Contact Us). We will respond to legitimate requests in accordance with applicable law. You also have the right to request deletion of your personal information. Keep in mind that if you ask us to delete your data, this may erase your game progress and account permanently, and you may lose any entitlements (like virtual currency or items) that you’ve accumulated. We will inform you of what data can or cannot be deleted (for example, we might retain transaction records if required by law). Once your data is deleted, your account may be closed and you may not be able to recover it.
10.2 Withdrawal of Consent: If we are processing your personal information based on your consent (for instance, for receiving marketing emails or for optional data processing in certain regions), you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in those emails or adjusting your email preferences in the game (if available). For push notifications, you can disable them through your device settings. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of any processing we conducted prior to your withdrawal, and it may not affect processing under other legal bases.
10.3 Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising: We support your choice to limit use of your data for targeted ads. You can opt out of personalized advertisements served by many of our ad partners by enabling the appropriate settings on your device or within the game.
10.4 Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: As explained, we do not sell personal data for money, but the use of advertising cookies/IDs in our apps could be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under the laws of some jurisdictions. If you are a resident of such a jurisdiction, you have the right to direct us not to sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. You can exercise this right by using the opt-out methods described above (which we treat as a Do Not Sell/Share request). If our game or website offers a “Do Not Sell My Info” link or toggle, you can also use that. Alternatively, you may contact us at our designated email or webform with your request (see Contact Us below). We do not knowingly sell personal information of consumers under 16 years of age without affirmative authorization.
10.5 Data Portability: You have the right to request a copy of the personal information you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and you can request that we transmit that data to another controller where technically feasible. This right applies only to information you provided, when processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means.
10.6 Verification of Requests: For your privacy and security, when you submit a request to access, delete, or exercise other rights, we may need to verify your identity before responding. For example, we might ask you to provide information that matches what we have on file (such as a recent in-game event or your account ID). If you have an account login, we may ask you to make the request through the logged-in account or respond to an email verification.
If you want to exercise any of your rights, please contact us at the contact information provided below. We will respond to your request within the time frame required by law.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised Policy on our website (and within the app where possible) with a new “Last Updated” date at the top. If we make material changes to how we collect or use your personal information, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by in-app notification or via a notice on our website or an email, if appropriate). We encourage you to review this Policy periodically to stay informed about our data practices.
Your continued use of the Services after any changes to this Privacy Policy have been posted will signify your acceptance of the updated terms (to the extent permitted by law). If you do not agree to the changes, you should stop using our Services and you may request that we delete your data.
